CLASS DESCRIPTION

Students will learn the materials and techniques necessary to create altered books.
This includes sculptural paper-cutting techniques, specific altered book gluing methods,
and other practical tactics for making static 3-dimensional book art.

BIO

Jonathan Wiley is a Denver-based artist. He has exhibited book art,
prints,and drawings at a variety of venues including the Abecedarian Gallery,
the Emmanuel Gallery, and Anthology Fine Art. His work is also featured in
the University of Denver Library Special Collection.

 

MATERIALS LIST

Participants: Old durable hardcover book at least 5x7 and 1inch thick; cutting tools:
heavy duty and precision (extra blades);
